03-09-11Fitness Update

Since I was released from Hospital just on 7 weeks ago my body has been recovering at a good rate and is now feeling quite normal bar a few small issues.
My left ankle is now out of it’s cast and I have begun physio and training again. I started cycling earlier this week at a light level to begin the rebuilding process of my fitness and leg strength as I lost quite a bit of muscle over the past 12weeks.  My upper body strength is feeling good and is getting back pretty close to where it needs to be, I am still suffering from fatigue quite easily after training at the minute and that is somthing I am working on and will come back to normal in time.  My kidney and internal injury’s are well on the road to recovery, I still have the odd bad day here and there but that is to be expected at this early stage.  I will be having my Ureteric stent removed in the coming weeks and that will another good step in the right direction as it is effecting my training at present just at a discomfort level more so then physical.  Other than that I feel brand new and am looking forward to my return to racing in the coming weeks.
